If your accountant helps you look back, I help you look forward.

Most owners I meet run excellent businesses on numbers they don't fully trust.

That gap, between the business that is clearly performing and the numbers that do not quite explain it, is where I have spent my working life. First on the failure side. Then on the operator side. Now on the fix side.

The recovery desk.

Four years at Baker Tilly, on the corporate recovery and advisory desk in Cyprus and Ireland. That is a nice sentence. What it was in practice: hotels, supermarkets, and high-margin manufacturers, dead. Nice premises, packed calendars, strong margins on paper. Closed anyway.

The job was to understand what had happened. Reverse-engineer the failure. Answer the question the owner couldn't answer themselves: how did we get here from there?

That question got me obsessed. If the margins were fine and the business was busy, why did it die? And could you see it coming, if you knew where to look? Would it be possible to reverse-engineer that process, so it never comes to closing a business down?

I still use every one of those answers. Just on the other side of the line now.

Two and a half years inside Zorbas Group.

After Baker Tilly, I went inside. Zorbas Group, one of Cyprus's largest family conglomerates. 2,500-plus people. 85-plus retail and hospitality outlets. Manufacturing lines feeding all of them. F&B, real estate, US operations. The exact kind of complex family business that 8PEX now works with.

I ran FP&A across it. Which means: I have lived the Monday morning where three departments report three different numbers. I have lived the season where the numbers say you should be comfortable and the cash position says you are not. I have been the one going to the warehouse to figure out why a report said one thing and reality said another. I have been in the seat you're hiring me to fix.

That matters because there's a specific kind of trust that only transfers when the person across the table has genuinely sat in your chair. Not read about it. Sat in it.

Why 8PEX exists.

Financial leadership is the thing large corporates have and owner-managed businesses can't justify. A senior finance seat is expensive to hire, if you can even find one who is a fit, and if you find one, the business needs to be big enough to keep them fully employed. Most €1M to €20M owner-managed businesses are not. So they run without it. And the cost of running without it is exactly what I spent four years cataloguing on the recovery desk.

8PEX puts a senior finance function into the business as an embedded partnership, actively engaged when it matters. We don't hand owners a report and leave. We go in, connect operations and finance so the numbers finally agree, and then stay embedded as the strategic finance partner founders and CEOs steer the business with.

Nobody should lose what they have built for no reason. That is the whole reason 8PEX exists.

What working with me looks like.

I am in the mud. I go to the warehouse. The front desk. The production line. The site. Where the data is born, not where it is aggregated. I read the human behind the function, the numbers are made by people, and if you don't read the people, you can't trust the numbers.

I am direct. I will tell you what I see. If I don't know something, I will say I don't know. If we are not a fit, I will say that too.

I don't sell days. I sell deliverables. Sold-by-days engagements drift, you pay for hours and end up unclear what you got. Sold-by-deliverables engagements have a defined cadence and named outcomes; you know what you are buying. That is the discipline.

One more thing.

I love the game. I find business genuinely interesting, the shape of it, the strange corners, the human behaviour of it. I am a business junkie, honestly. I would talk about business all day for free. That energy is why 8PEX exists at all, and it is what a client is buying, the finance leader who finds their problem interesting, not just billable.

A conversation is where we start.

30 minutes. Live. You show me what you have; I tell you what I see. No pitch, no follow-up sequence, no sales team.

If your numbers and your gut are telling you two different stories, that's usually worth half an hour of conversation. Even if we never work together, you'll leave with a clearer picture than you arrived with.

NOT BETTER DATA. CONTROL.
